- Logging In - Engineering Workbench requires all users to Register & Log-In to individual user accounts. Individual accounts allow users to make save searches, create bookmarks and share information and standards with other users.
- ***Starting April 23, 2020, the login screen for IHS Markit/Engineering Workbench will change, and all passwords will need to be reset. If you have any questions, or any problem, please contact Sandy Brady, librarian at the LTRC Library - sandra.brady@la.gov, or 225.767.9716
- If Engineering Workbench asks you to sign in, AND you are on a DOTD networked computer, it is asking for your personal account information, not LTRC-Library account info.
- Older versions - By default, Engineering Workbench will only give you the most current publications and standards.
- If you need an older version, scroll down the results page looking for "Standards Revisions" in the left column. Un-check "Most Recent Revision." You should then see all of the editions available in the database.
- Searching - The easiest way to search for specific documents is to use AASHTO's codes for their publications.
- --LRFD Bridge Design Specifications is "LRFDUS." So your best/easiest search term is "AASHTO LRFDUS."
- --The Green Book, or A Policy on Geometric Design of Highways and Streets, is GDHS, so search for "AASHTO GDHS."
- More of our most used:
- --Highway Safety Manual = HSM
- --Roadside Design Guide = RSDG
- --Manual for Bridge Evaluation = MBE
- --Guide for the Planning, Design, and Operation of Pedestrian Facilities = GPF
- --LRFD Bridge Construction Specifications = LRFDCONS
- --A Policy on Design Standards-Interstate System = DS
- --Mechanistic-Empirical Pavement Design Guid = MEPDG
- --A Policy on Geometric Design of Rural Highways = CD
- --Highway Drainage Guidelines = HDG
